I’m Catherine, a dedicated marketing coordinator with a passion for graphic design and digital communications. My journey into the world of marketing began at the University of Mississippi, where I pursued a major in Integrated Marketing Communications, specializing in visual design to bring ideas to life through compelling imagery and strategic messaging across digital and traditional mediums.

During my college years, I gained valuable experience as a marketing program assistant at Campus Recreation, where I collaborated with a team to manage social media content and strategy. Additionally, I had the privilege of interning for two years at a dynamic marketing agency. This experience was pivotal in refining my design skills and deepening my grasp of effective communication strategies in the digital age.

Today, as a marketing coordinator at NC State Alumni, I apply my expertise in design to create engaging visual assets for social media, print, and digital platforms. Working closely with my team, I help develop strategies to actively involve alumni and the Wolfpack community, fostering meaningful connections through innovative marketing initiatives.

My Experience

As the marketing coordinator at NC State Alumni, I use Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva to create a diverse array of visual assets. I help manage the alumni website and app, ensuring content is relevant and engaging. I work with the communications team to build strategies that help the department reach fundraising and engagement goals. I collaborate with partners across campus to expand our audience reach.

I was a sales associate at Learning Express Toys in Birmingham, Alabama from 2018-2020. At this job, I learned invaluable customer service experience that has helped me in other positions, like working at Campus Recreation. I assisted customers with finding the perfect gift based on their specifications and needs.

While working at Ole Miss Campus Recreation as a marketing program assistant, I was in charge of creating a social media schedule and content for Ole Miss Outdoors and Fitness. I coordinated with department heads to get the necessary information to create relevant content to promote events and programs. I also worked as a membership representative. I engaged with existing and potential clients to discuss membership opportunities.

I served as an Ambassador for the School of Journalism and New Media at the University of Mississippi my sophomore, junior and senior years. I served as the first point of contact for prospective students for the school and assisted with hosting recruiting and community-building events.

As a creative intern at Red Window Communications, I helped with the creation of social media, print, photography, and video content for clients. On a daily basis, I created social media content, business cards, brochures, and webpages. Also, I assisted with video content shoots and editing.

Between my junior and senior years of college, I studied abroad in Italy with the School of Journalism and New Media. Our host school in Florence provided the space for us to take classes including Travel Writing and Global Brands.  When we weren’t in the classroom, we took trips to explore different parts of Italy including Cinque Terre, Rome, and more. This program offered the opportunity to learn from a new perspective.
